Adam got me into contact with Stacey Mason, Procedural narrative designer. Interactive narrative research at playableUCSC, previously worked at Telltales Games.
I discussed the idea of using evolution as a narrative structure for a game. Looking into branching narrative structures and patterns in a more broad sense. Specifically at ways to link player inputs and how they change events in the narrative and how environmental factors affect evolution.
She gave me some useful advice and areas to look into next. Though I’m still not certain I want to take my game down narrative route.
